Spring 2018
- Worked on a basketball coaching experiment for an entire semester.
- Experimented if coaching how to shoot free throws had an impact on a player’s overall performance on the court.
- Applied R and the Poisson distribution on my data to analyze and present my project.
- Completed 100% of assigned projects and homework.
- Awarded the most fun project for my “basketball experiment”.
- Designed projects in class using the R code, and applying the use of randomization, contrasts and factorial designs.
Datafest Participant
Spring 2018
- Represented Meredith College at the annual data fest competition at Duke University.
- Analyzed data that had 17 million observations to answer the question “If you were to advise a high school student on what to major in when he/she goes to college, what would you encourage them to do to be advantaged in the job search critique for indeed?”
- Used R to make relevant graphs that answered the question by using smaller samples of the data set without alternating any variable.
- Effectively assigned data to other 3 teammates to save time.
